Al-Qur'an, 37.180-182 (As-Saaffat[Those Ranged in Ranks])

Dua seeking refuge from the shaytaan

WaaAAoothu bika rabbi an yahdurooni

Duas

(Only the ‘dua’ part of the ayah has been given above)

Our Lord! Grant us good in this world and good in the hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the fire [Quran 2:201]
Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil 'akhirati hasanatan waqina 'adhaban-nar

[MyNotes]: Allah Himself has urged His slaves to ask for good things for both the worlds and not just one. And those who just want an increase and ask only for this world, are indeed losers in the eternal life. Allah knows best.

Our Lord! Accept from us: For You are the All-Hearing, the All-knowing  [Quran 2:127]
Rabbana taqabbal minna innaka antas Sameeaul Aleem

[MyNotes]: This is such a beautiful du'a by Prophet Ibrahim(A.S) and his son Ismail(A.S) right after they built the Ka'aba. What could be more amazing a deed than this which will reward them for every prayer a Muslim says on earth facing towards Ka'aba! MashaAllah. Still they feared its acceptance by Allah. SubhanAllah! Reminder for us to recite this du'a after performing every good deed inshaAllah.

Our Lord! (they say), Let not our hearts deviate now after You have guided us, but grant us mercy from Your own Presence; for You are the Grantor of bounties without measure [Quran 3:8]
Rabbana la tuzigh quloobana ba'da idh hadaytana wa hab lana milladunka rahmah innaka antal Wahhab

[MyNotes]: Another much much needed du'aa. It directly affects our Ultimate Success or Ultimate Loss. May Allah keep us guided till our last breaths on siraat-al-mustaqeem, the straight path which pleases Him and that ends at Jannah alone. Ameen.

(Only the ‘dua’ part of the ayah has been given above)

O my Lord! Grant unto us spouses and offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and give us (the grace) to lead the righteous [Quran 25:74]
Rabbana Hablana min azwaajina wadhurriy-yatina, qurrata 'ayioni wa-jalna lil-muttaqeena Imaama
[MyNotes]: Qurrat-ul-ayn = Comfort of the eyes! Can any feeling be more profound and beautiful than this? Totally in love with this du'aa. May Allah bestow on us all the wisdom and patience to live upto this du'aa. Ameen.

(Only the ‘dua’ part of the ayah has been given above)

Our Lord! Perfect our Light for us, and grant us Forgiveness: for You have power over all things.[Quran 66:8]
Rabbana atmim lana nurana waighfir lana innaka 'ala kulli shay-in qadir
[MyNotes]: Hadrat Abdullah bin 'Abbas and his likes explained the meaning of 'perfecting light' as "Thus the believers will implore Allah that their light be allowed to remain with them and kept from going out until they have crossed the bridge across Hell."[Source: Tasfeer of this verse]

O my Lord! make me one who establishes regular Prayer, and also (raise such) among my offspring. O our Lord! and accept You my prayer.[Quran 14:40]
Rabbi 'j'alni muqima's-Salati wa min Thurriyati, Rabbana wa taqqabal du'a'
[MyNotes]: Salaah or Prayer, according to authentic sayings of the Prophet(pbuh), is the most important deed of a believer as it will be the first thing that one will be questioned about on the Day of Judgement. If one's prayers turn out to be unacceptable or ugly or invalid, then his other deeds will not be even looked upon :( This really shows us the significance and priority of this deed over others, which we either 'perform hastily' or 'miss them due to simple reasons' or 'perform without proper knowledge of the process of doing it'. It makes it all the more important for us to ask Allah SWT to keep us consistent in our prayers and they be accepted. And if generations after us miss out on this really important duty, then who is to be blamed? O Allah, I take refuge in You from anxiety, weakness and laziness.

Mu`adh ibn Jabal (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) held my hand and said, “O Mu`adh, By Allah, I love you and advise you not to miss supplicating after every Salat (prayer) saying:

عبادت وحسن وشكرك ذكرك, على أعني اللهم
`Allahumma a`inni `ala dhikrika wa shukrika, wa husni `ibadatika,’

(O Allah, help me remember You, expressing gratitude to You and worship You in the best manner)”.
[Abu Dawud and An-Nasa'i].

O my Lord! Forgive me, my parents, all who enter my house in Faith, and (all) believing men and believing women[Quran 71:28]
Rabbigh-fir li wali-walidayya, wali man dakhala baytina mu'minaw walilmu'mineena, wal mu'minati  [MyNotes]: Prophet Muhammed(peace be upon him) said, “Whoever seeks forgiveness for the believing men and believing women, Allah will write for him a good deed for each believing man and believing woman.”
(Source: Tabarani, classes as Sahih by Shaykh Albani)

(Only the ‘dua’ part of the ayah has been given above)

"Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people."

(Only the ‘dua’ part of the ayah has been given above)

Rabbanainnana amanna faghfir lana thunoobanawaqina AAathaba annar (3:16)

“Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire,"

Our Lord! Whomsoever You shall commit to the Fire, truly You have brought [him] to disgrace, and never will wrongdoers find any helpers (3:192)

Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and efface our bad deeds and take our souls in the company of the righteous. (3:193)

rabbi hab lee min ladunka thurriyyatantayyibatan innaka sameeAAu adduAAa

My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication.

"Our Lord! We believe in what You have sent down, and we follow the Messenger; so write us down among those who bear witness." (3/53)

Our Lord! And grant us that which you have promised to us by Your messengers and save us from shame on the Day of Judgement. Verily You never fail to fulfill Your promise. (3:194)

Our Lord! Pour out on us patience and constancy, and make us die as those who have surrendered themselves unto You. (7:126)

Our Lord! Make us not a trial for the evildoing folk, and save as by Your mercy from people who deny the truth (10:85-86)

“O my Lord! I seek refuge with You from asking You that of which I have no knowledge. And unless You forgive me and have Mercy on me, I would indeed be one of the losers." (11/47)

“My Lord! Increase me in knowledge." (20/114)

"O my Lord! Make me one who performs As-Salaat (Iqaamat-as-Salaat), and (also) from my offspring, our Lord! And accept my invocation." (14/40)

"O My Lord! Leave me not single (childless), though You are the Best of the inheritors." (21/89)
"My Lord! I seek refuge with You from the whisperings (suggestions) of the Shayatin (devils). And I seek refuge with You, My Lord! lest they may attend (or come near) me." (23/97-98)
Our Lord! We believe, so forgive us, and have mercy on us, for You are the Best of all who show mercy!" (23/109)
"My Lord! Forgive and have mercy, for You are the Best of those who show mercy!" (23/118)
Our Lord! Grant that our spouses and our offspring be a comfort to our eyes, and give us the grace to lead those who are conscious of You. (25:74)
Our Lord! You embrace all things within Your Grace and Knowledge, forgive those who repent and follow Your path, and ward off from them the punishment of Hell. (40:7)
Our Lord! Make them enter the Garden of Eden which You have promised to them, and to the righteous from among their fathers, their wives and their offspring, for verily You are alone the Almighty and the truly Wise. (40:8)
Our Lord! Relieve us of the torment, for we do really believe. (44:12)
Our Lord! Forgive us our sins as well as those of our brethren who proceeded us in faith and let not our hearts entertain any unworthy thoughts or feelings against [any of] those who have believed. Our Lord! You are indeed full of kindness and Most Merciful (59:10)
